Trades Specialist (Electrician)

Specific duties and job requirements will include, but not be limited to, the following:
oUnder general supervision, performs skilled work at the journey-level in the maintenance, repair and installation of canal floating plant and building electrical systems and equipment. oInstalls, maintains, and repairs generators, motors, lighting, signal systems, and electrical equipment. oRepairs and tests electrical work and devices. oRepairs and maintains signal controls, lights, pumping equipment, signs, oil burners and other mechanisms. oActs as a trouble shooter on electrical repairs. oConducts a program of preventative maintenance. oMaintains navigation lighting systems. oSupervises other journey-level employees and helpers. Qualifications:
oWorking knowledge and understanding of AC/DC power. o A valid Commercial Driver's License appropriate to the type of vehicles and equipment operated may be required.

Salary Range:
From $19.72 to $28.25 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
Trades Specialist (Electrician):
Candidates must have four years of full-time experience in the electrical trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program, or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in the electrical trade at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services; OR successful completion of the two-year Trades Specialist (Electrician) traineeship or a two-year electrician training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program such as the New York State Civil Service Employees Association-Partnership Applied Skilled Trades Traineeship and Certificate Program.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
