Summary:
Under the supervision of the Active People Healthy Wayne (APHW) Program Director, the APHW Program Coordinator will support all Creating Healthy School and Communities (CHSC) program initiatives and strategies including but not limited to:
Food Service Guidelines, Physical Activity and Nutrition, and Physical Activity Access - Connecting Routes to Destinations.
The coordinator will assist the director with:
Community Collaboration; Marketing and Promotion; Data Collection and Entry; Policy/Procedure Development; and Reporting.

The APHW program offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing in-office and remote working opportunities.

Possible attendance to the annual state- wide, in-person Creating Healthy Schools and Communities (CHSC) conference.
Qualifications:

has a passion for social justice and equitable community access to nutrition and physical activity opportunities, has a strong desire to create and transform policies regarding healthy eating, sourcing local foods, and promoting physical activities within Wayne County, NY, has experience working in the non-profit sector, and has an interest in serving rural, economically depressed communities, and is creative, thinks outside of the box, and thrives in a highly collaborative role.

Education/
Experience:
High School Diploma/Equivalency.
Bachelor's degree or relevant work experiences preferred.
Professional experiences working in human services and/or non-profits preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Comfortability speaking in front of others.
Knowledge of community resources.
Ability to work effectively with staff, community professionals, school faculty and staff, and other stakeholders.
Ability to organize workload, maintain accurate records and work independently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Program Operations:
With oversight from APHW Director, the Coordinator will implement a variety of needs-driven, high-quality programs and services in adherence with the Creating Healthy Schools and Communities (CHSC) model.
Attend all necessary internal and external meetings and trainings.
Work with other APHW staff and contractual partner personnel in the achievement of APHW objectives.
Support APHW Director in the development of Strategic Teams to address program objectives including but not limited to:
Food Service Guidelines in Worksites and Community Settings, Physical Activity and Nutrition Standards in Early Care and Education Settings, and PhysicalActivity Access - Connecting Routes to Destinations.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all regulations that pertain to Finger Lakes Community Action and all contractual agencies.
Support research/evaluation of the CHSC strategies employed in the community by overseeing and coordinating the collection of data, timely submission of reports, and responses to other requests for information by the funder, contracted community agencies, or another accountability agency.
Maintain confidentiality for all data collected as a result of APHW activities.
Community Collaboration and Public Relations:
Support research/evaluation of the CHSC strategies employed in the community by overseeing and coordinating the collection of data, timely submission of reports, and responses to other requests for information by the funder, contracted community agencies, or another accountability agency.
Organize and oversee assets and needs assessments on an ongoing basis and seek input from contracted community agencies, local school districts, and municipalities.
Develop strong relationship and new partnerships, as well as serve as a point of contact for contracted community agencies, local school districts, and municipalities.
Provide technical assistance and support as needed.
Work with leadership to maintain a focus on results and track progress for APHW strategies and initiatives.

Attend all relevant meetings, coalitions, committees, etc.
as directed to build collaboration and investment in APHW initiatives and goals.
Assist with the preparation and distribution of APHW marketing materials.
Assist the APHW Director and collaborating partners in the marketing and implementation of APHW events and services.

Computer Skills:
Must have working knowledge of basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
), Zoom/WebEx.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver's license.
